The office was established in 1949 as a branch of the Warsaw headquarters. Initially, it was concerned with the reconstruction of the destroyed power infrastructure in Silesia. Subsequently, according to the Bureau's design documentation, the following power plants were built Skawina, Jaworzno II and III, Laziska, Siersza, Rybnik, Pruneřov (Czech Republic) and cogeneration plants: Kraków-Lęg, Poznań-Karolin, Tychy, Bielsko-Biała, Katowice, and others.

Independence

In 1993, the state enterprise was transformed into a joint-stock company "ENERGOPROJEKT-KATOWICE", and since 1999 it has been fully private, with 100% of shares in the hands of employees. The company has developed from a design company to a provider of complex services, including research, engineering, consulting, investment implementation and financial engineering.

Comprehensive services

Since its inception, the company's engineers have designed power plants with boilers fired by lignite, hard coal, oil, gas and a combination of these fuels, including conventional, supercritical, fluidized bed and grate boilers. EPK has developed designs for hundreds of power plants and cogeneration units, including more than a dozen diesel power plants abroad.

Our company is recognized on the national and international market and has implemented projects in England, Bosnia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Greece, the Netherlands, India, Germany, Nigeria, Portugal, Romania, Turkey and Ukraine. More important dates

August 23, 1949

Establishment of the Katowice branch as a representation of the headquarters of ENERGOPROJEKT Power Engineering Design Bureau in Warsaw.

1953

Establishment of the Katowice Power Plant Design Office as a branch of the Warsaw-based Power Plant Design Office.

1979

Relocation of the company's headquarters in Katowice from the current location on Piotra Skargi Street to its own premises at 15 Ash Street.

1993

Privatization of the office and transformation of BSiPE Energoprojekt in Katowice into the currently operating independent joint-stock company BSPiR "ENERGOPROJEKT-KATOWICE" SA.

1996

Introduction of a quality assurance system in accordance with ISO 9001, certified by RW TÜV Essen.

1999

The year of the 50th anniversary - the company became a fully private company, independent from external institutions, with 100% of its shares owned by employees.

2000

The name change from Biuro Studiów i Projektów Energetycznych ENERGOPROJEKT-KATOWICE SA to Biuro Studiów, Projektów i Realizacji ENERGOPROJEKT-KATOWICE SA was connected with the transformation of the design office into an engineering office.

2010

Implementation of the Health and Safety Management System according to the PN-N 18001:2004 standard.

2010–2015

Design of large power units for Opole Power Plant, Kozienice Power Plant, Jaworzno Power Plant, Turów Power Plant and ANWIL PKN Orlen. Diversification of activities, including expansion into foreign markets.

2017

Installation of a photovoltaic system on the vertical façade of the office building and on the roofs of the two buildings.

2020

Transition to the new health and safety standard PN-ISO 45001:2018.

2021

Launched EPKK Cogeneration - an in-house low-carbon, high-efficiency cogeneration plant for the EPK office complex.
